ROTC wins 1st overall Saturday, December 7th at the Brookland Army JROTC competition. They won first place in Male Color Guard and Female Color Guard , armed drill, unarmed drill, and PT challenge. They won second in Coed Color Guard.  The cadets say ROTC works hard every day, getting ready for competitions. Sergeant Yecky and Sergeant Roberts are very proud of their cadets saying, “In order to prepare ROTC had to put in a lot of work; they practice every single day in enrichment.”

Senior Jasper Ripper says, “Months ahead of time we planned this out and every enrichment  got out on the drill deck and we practiced drilling, broken down by simple movements and facing movements, everything, just to be the best out there”.

The ROTC cadets say, “the competition was easier than expected, but we put a lot of effort into it.  A commanding officer from Brookland, informed Jasper Ripper saying, ” every school there came to win all the trophies there.”

Andrew Kepner says, ” After going up there, it feels good to win after practicing for months.”
