The Yellowjackets start the season with a clutch interception and fumble recovery by Wynne to seal the win at Marion on Friday, September 6.

Wynne lost September twelfth away, at a non-conference game against Arkadelphia by a score of 51-31. The Badgers trailed the Yellowjackets 14-7 at halftime. Arkadelphia put 37 points on the scoreboard in the second half while Wynne only scored 11 points.

Holden Parker, 12, QB, K, believes that communication is key to a great season. “Listening to coaches and understanding what needs to be done, knowing ahead of time what to do and where to be to make the play work”, says Parker.

Wynne’s matchup against West Memphis September 20 ended up as a huge Yellowjacket win. Wynne trailed the Blue Devils at halftime by a score of 10-7. West Memphis only scored one touchdown falling behind the Yellowjackets 15 points in the second half. 

“If we’re ever down at halftime we have to step up and give everything we’ve got,” says Kavion Alston, 6, SB, S. 

Friday, September 27, the Wynne Yellowjackets defeated the Blytheville Chickasaws by a score of 42-22. Wynne rushed for 431 yards and threw for 34 yards. Marterious Ross, 26, FB, had an amazing night with 4 touchdowns.
