Learning How to Work Together

Learning to stick together as a team, they begin their season. The WHS Lady Jackets team consists of thirteen players-seniors Stella Myers as captain (outside hitter); Lauren Reed (outside middle back); Claire Pribble (setter); Whitley Buchanan (right defensive specialist); Carmen Davis (outside middle block right); juniors Emma McKnight (defensive specialist); Kayla Lace(middle block, right side); sophomores Mckenzie Allison(libero); Emily Hale(outside hitter); Londyn Mcdaniel (defensive specialist, right side); Darienne Carter (middle block right); Emma Pagan (right side); Zahriya Baker (outside hitter, middle block, right side); Gracen Hylie (manager) and Coach Codie Lancanster.
As quoted by Myers and McDaniel, “The girls are getting along well and learning to work together as a team”. “We’re pretty close like sisters” Myers says. McDaniel adds , “We’re bonding well and becoming really close with each other”.
The season started off pretty rocky against Valley View but they recover with a win against Harrisburg. They have played against Highland, Harrisburg, Blytheville, Brookland, Pocahontas, Westside, and Batesville. Lancaster says, “The toughest opponents will be Valley View, Brookland and Batesville because they are are all good competitive teams”. Their record – 6-7-1 and 4-5 in conference.
Tournaments played so far- Spikefest, Batesville. Upcoming this weekend – Brookland.
Coach Lancaster gives her opinion on how the season is going: “Going good the girls are more competitive while working on getting better each day”.
