An inexperienced tennis team works hard to make a racquet.

Playing in singles, as well as doubles, the YellowJackets compete against Harrisburg, Marion, Stuttgart, and  Joe T. Robinson.

The team has thirty-four players – nineteen LadyJackets and fifteen YellowJackets- six returning and six new in the top twelve. The six returning players consist of Jake Reid, Max Henson, Caleb Lloyd, Emily Roberts, Zoe Colvin, and Ericka Faircloth.

New as coach this year, Tyler Riddle says, “Our biggest weakness is our inexperience, we have a lot of players who just need time.”

This summer the tennis team played in a tournament in Searcy against Conway, Parker’s Chapel, Searcy and Cabot.  Jonesboro hosted a playday as well; some teams in attendance -Nettleton, Highland, Brookland, Pigott and Westside.

Wynne wins 4 matches: Harrisburg- Boys 6-0, Girls 6-0,  Stuttgart – Girls 3-2, Robinson-Boys 2-0, Girls 2-4.

Coming in October, the YellowJackets will play their conference tournament at Rebsamen Park.
