On September 17th, Mark McClanahan brings Pop’s Grill to Wynne, giving the town a taste of something different.

“We were lacking places to eat, not to sound bad, we need other places than Chinese and Mexican; we felt like there was a need for more choice.” says McClanahan.

Located in the building of the former Colby’s, McClanahan says, “Expect a different atmosphere”. Mark McClanahan (owner) was the sole designer of Pop’s interior.

“Though we’re not chasing the old Colby’s aspect, we know the location has the ability to thrive.” says Blake McClanahan.  Blake McClanahan manages Pop’s and says, “You could come for a burger night or it’s nice enough for a date night.”

They bring back Chef Eric Williams of Colby’s. Williams has experience as a chef at Omar’s in Jonesboro.  M. McClanahan says of Williams “He has 20 plus years in experience by himself.” He has also had his own BBQ shack. Blake McClanahan also has experience in cooking. McClanahan has received experience as the opening chef at Red Lobster and Cheddar’s in Jonesboro. He has 7 years of experience in the restaurant business. He also has experience as a bar manager.

As said by B. McClanahan, “We both have 30 years in experience together”.  Mark McClanahan has catered for years but says he has zero experience in the restaurant business.  Blake McClanahan added, ” It’s very known around the community, if there is an event around , everybody knows his steak and rice.”

Blake McClanahan comments further that ,”We’ll have items on the menu you can’t even find in Jonesboro cause it’s that good.”
